Use long-term memory to carry context and preferences across conversations, so the AI assistant applies what it learned in previous sessions without you having to repeat yourself.

Permissions

Only administrators can enable or disable long-term memory.

Using Long-Term Memory

When long-term memory is enabled, the assistant saves notable context from your conversations — field preferences, population definitions, primary tools, and display preferences — and surfaces them in future conversations as saved context when relevant.

For example, your saved context might include:

  • Filtering stale devices to those last seen older than 30 days, excluding devices that never reported Last Seen
  • Sorting inactive assets by Last Seen ascending (oldest first)
  • Treating SentinelOne as your primary EDR
  • Leadership-level briefing format

The assistant applies these automatically when relevant and tells you when a saved preference influenced a choice. To update a preference, say so in any conversation.

Enabling Long-Term Memory

To enable long-term memory:

  1. In the top navigation, click the gear icon to open System Settings.
  2. Go to AI Settings > General Settings.
  3. Enable Long Term Memory.
  4. Click Save.

Long-Term Memory vs. Conversation History

Long-term memory is separate from conversation history — the sidebar where past chats are stored and organized into folders. Conversation history retention is controlled by your Auto-Deletion setting, also under AI Settings. Long-term memory specifically governs cross-session context that influences assistant behavior.
