Authentication Methods

The Observium adapter uses username and password authentication to connect to the Observium API.

APIs

Axonius uses the Observium API. The following endpoints are called:

  • GET /api/v0/devices - Retrieves device inventory information

Required Permissions

The credentials used by the adapter must have:

  • Read access to the Observium API
  • Permission to query device information via the API endpoints

Connecting the Adapter in Axonius

Navigate to the Adapters page, search for Observium, and click on the adapter tile.

Click Add Connection.

To connect the adapter in Axonius, provide the following parameters:

Required Parameters

  1. Observium Domain - The hostname of the Observium server. Example: https://observium.example.com
  2. User Name - The user name for an account that has read access to the API.
  3. Password - The password for the account specified in User Name.


Optional Parameters

  1. Verify SSL - Select whether to verify the SSL certificate of the server against the CA database inside of Axonius. For more details, see SSL Trust & CA Settings.

  2. HTTPS Proxy - Enter an HTTPS proxy address to connect the adapter to a proxy instead of directly connecting it to the domain.
