The Guides in the AI Workforce page are three interactive, step-by-step experiences designed to orient, educate, and grow your use of Axonius over time. Here's a complete overview:

What the Guides Are

The Guides are not workers — they don't run checks or produce briefings. They are structured, interactive sessions launched directly in the chat. You access them through the Guides pill in the AI Workforce page header (just left of the Ask AI button), which opens a "Your guides" panel listing all three. The Help menu (the ? in the top bar) lists the same three as Learn Axonius, Set up Axonius, and Grow with Axonius.

The pill also shows your progress — e.g., "Guides 1/3" — meaning 1 of the 3 guides is fully complete.

The Three Guides

1. 🎓 Learn Axonius — the Teacher

Purpose: Learn how the platform works through structured, interactive lessons.

  • Organized into 11 learning tracks (e.g., "The big picture", "Access and governance", "Finding anything: queries", "Dashboards and charts")
  • Each track has an estimated duration (e.g., ~5 min) and a status: Not started, In progress, or Completed
  • You Start a fresh track or Continue one already in progress
  • A track is marked Completed once you've finished all its lessons; Onboarding and Navigator stages are only ever "visited", never formally completed in the same way
  • Two tracks are hands-on tutorials: Track 5 walks you through the Query Wizard, and Track 6 walks you through the Chart Wizard — both end with a "Try it yourself" moment in the actual product

2. 🔧 Set up Axonius — the Onboarding

Purpose: A step-by-step environment ramp-up companion for getting Axonius configured.

  • Organized into 7 stages (e.g., "Connect your sources", "Tune adapters", "Meet the AI workers", "Learn as you go")
  • Stages are visited, not formally "completed"
  • Progress bar shows how many stages you've started: "2 of 7 started"
  • Each stage opens a session in the chat that guides you through real actions — connecting adapters, configuring settings, exploring the AI Workforce — and dispatches to other flows like the connect-adapter wizard or system settings review

3. 🚀 Grow with Axonius — the Navigator

Purpose: A Customer Journey companion for expanding and maturing your Axonius program.

  • Organized into 4 journey stages:
    1. Centralize & Normalize Data
    2. Visualize & Prioritize Risks
    3. Reduce Risk & Improve Productivity
    4. Democratize Actions & Insights
  • Progress bar shows how many stages you've started: "1 of 4 started"
  • Because the journey is cyclical (you return to earlier stages as you expand use cases), stages are visited rather than permanently completed
  • Each stage gives you a checklist of must-dos, a recommendation, and the first chip to take the next step

How They Work

  1. Starting a guide: Click a row in the Guides pane and press Start, or click Continue to pick up where you left off. This launches the guide's session in the AI chat.

  2. Session anchors: Each guide uses a specific opening phrase to start or resume — clicking from the pane and clicking a chip in the chat both land in the same place.

  3. Progress tracking: The platform tracks which tracks/stages you've started or completed. The Guides pane reflects your own personal progress. The Guides pill counter in the page header updates as you complete guides (e.g., "Guides 2/3").

  4. The strip above a guide session: When you're in a guide conversation, a strip above the thread names the guide and "Guides" (e.g., "Onboarding · Guides"). If you navigate away, a Back to AI Workforce button returns you to the guide's pane.

  5. Try it yourself moments: At the end of each Teacher lesson or Onboarding/Navigator stage, you get a hands-on moment — an Open [page] button to try the concept in the real product, followed by "Done — I saw it" and "I couldn't find it" chips to continue or get help.

A Few Key Points

  • Guides ≠ Workers. They don't appear in the Workforce Hub's worker list, don't have Approved Actions, and can't be scheduled like a Virtual Worker.
  • Progress is personal. Your guide progress is your own — it doesn't affect other users and follows you into any data scope.
  • No time estimates from memory. Each track/stage card shows a static estimated time (e.g., "~5 min") shipped with the guide itself — not based on your pace.
  • Resuming is always available. If you stop mid-way through a track or stage, the Continue button (on the row or in the Guides pill) picks up from where you left off.
