Article Summary

You can manually create assets based on custom data. This allows you to create your own assets with your own data. This is useful in the case there are assets which have “one-off” characteristics Once created, these assets are exactly the same as any other asset in the system.

To create an asset manually:

  1. From one of the asset pages (devices, users), click the three-dot menu above the top-right corner of the asset table.

  3. To give the asset a name, add the Asset Name field. This value will appear in the asset table and make it easier to identify the asset. Assets with no name are still created.

  4. Click Save Changes. The new asset is added to the asset table. You may need to filter the table to see it.
