This adapter fetches the following types of assets:

• Devices

Data Retrieved through the Adapter

The following data can be fetched by the adapter:

• Devices - Fields such as: device model, operating system and software version, network interfaces
• Connected Devices - LLDP/CDP neighbors, when Fetch LLDP/CDP Neighbors is enabled.
• Network Maps - Locations of network devices, when Fetch Network Maps is enabled.

Before You Begin

Authentication Methods

The adapter authenticates with a user name and password. Axonius uses these credentials to obtain a bearer access token from ExtremeCloud IQ, and refreshes the token before it expires.

APIs

Axonius uses the ExtremeCloud IQ REST API to retrieve asset data. The adapter calls the following endpoints:

• POST login - Authenticates with the user name and password and returns an access token.
• GET account/home - Validates the connection.
• GET devices - Retrieves the devices. When Fetch LLDP/CDP Neighbors is enabled, the request includes the views=FULL query parameter to return the full device view with LLDP/CDP neighbors.
• GET network-policies/{npid}/ssids - Retrieves the SSIDs of the network policy assigned to a device.
• GET clients/active - Retrieves active client devices.
• GET locations/floor - Retrieves the floors, when Fetch Network Maps is enabled.
• GET devices/{id}/location - Retrieves the location of a device, when Fetch Network Maps is enabled.
• GET locations/tree/map - Retrieves the map of a floor, when Fetch Network Maps is enabled.

Connecting the Adapter in Axonius

1. Navigate to the Adapter Catalog, search for ExtremeCloud IQ, and select the adapter.
2. Click Add Connection.
3. Provide the following parameters.

Required Parameters

1. Host Name or IP Address - The hostname or IP address of the ExtremeCloud IQ server.

2. User Name and Password - The credentials for a user account that has the permissions to fetch assets.

Optional Parameters

1. Verify SSL - Select whether to verify the SSL certificate of the server against the CA database inside of Axonius. For more details, see SSL Trust & CA Settings.

2. HTTPS Proxy - Connect the adapter to a proxy instead of directly connecting it to the domain.

3. HTTPS Proxy User Name - The user name to use when connecting to the value supplied in Host Name or IP Address via the value supplied in HTTPS Proxy.

4. HTTPS Proxy Password - The password to use when connecting to the server using the HTTPS Proxy.

Advanced Settings

• Fetch Network Maps - Select this option to enrich Device data with Network Maps, marking the locations of Network Devices.
• Fetch LLDP/CDP Neighbors (default: disabled) - Select this option to request the full device view and add the LLDP/CDP neighbors to Devices as Connected Devices. Each Connected Device can include the neighbor name, the local and remote interface names, the remote MAC address, and the remote management IP address, when ExtremeCloud IQ provides valid values.
