Managing Parent Application Fields

Use the Parent Application Fields page to choose which SaaS application fields Axonius copies to the Parent Application field of Application Settings.

Each Application Setting shows its Parent Application, the SaaS application that has the same name as the application of the setting. By default, the Parent Application field includes the name, owner, and application category of the SaaS application, and Internal SaaS Application Repository ID" (which is a link to the SaaS application). Add fields to the Parent Application field to see more SaaS application data on Application Settings. You can use these fields in queries, table columns, and Enforcement Center actions.

This page is available only for Axonius SaaS Applications customers.

Required Permissions

To view the Parent Application Fields page, you need the following permissions:

  • System Management > View
  • SaaS Applications > View SaaS Application Discovery Screen

To save changes, you also need SaaS Applications > Manage SaaS Application Discovery.

To add fields to the Parent Application

  1. Click image.png in the top right corner of the platform to open System Settings.

  2. In the Categories/Subcategories pane of the System Settings page, expand Data, and select Parent Application Fields.

  3. From Added fields, select one or more SaaS application fields. Custom Data fields show (Custom Data) after their name.

  4. Click Save. Axonius shows the new fields in Parent Application after the next discovery cycle.

For example, to show the code that your CMDB assigns to each application, select CMDB App Code (Custom Data) and click Save. After the next discovery cycle, every Application Setting shows this code in Parent Application.

Options and Limits

  • Added fields lists SaaS application fields of a simple type (text, number, Yes/No, date, or a value from a list) and Custom Data fields of SaaS applications.
  • To remove a field, clear it from Added fields and click Save. Axonius no longer copies the field and removes it from the Application Settings fields.
