General Settings

Use the General Settings page to manage and enable AI capabilities across your environment.

The AI Workforce is available on Axonius-hosted deployments only.

Required Permissions

To access the AI Settings pages, your role needs the Configure AI system settings permission. Users also need the AI Agents > View and interact permission to use AI features.

Accessing General Settings

1. From the top right corner of any page, click (System Settings). The System Settings page opens.
2. In the Categories/Subcategories pane, expand AI Settings, and select General Settings.

Available Settings

When Enable Axonius AI is off, the page shows only that switch and the Activation Button row. The other rows keep their values but are hidden until you turn AI on.

Enable Axonius AI

Enable AI capabilities in Axonius. When enabled, users with the View and interact permission can access the AI Companion and all other AI features.

Enable Axonius AI is off by default.

Activation Button

Show the 'Activate Axonius AI' button in the top bar — Shows the AI activation button in the Axonius top bar. On by default.

AI Companion

Delete chat history after — Set how long Axonius retains AI chat history. Options: 30 days, 60 days, 90 days, and No automatic deletion (the default). Selecting a shorter period shows a "Delete chat history sooner?" confirmation. The retention sweep runs every 24 hours, so messages older than the retention period disappear within a day of being saved.

Enable Long Term Memory

Enable Long Term Memory for the AI Agent — Enables the AI to retain context across conversations. Off by default.

Scheduled Worker Emails

Allow scheduled workers to email their reports — When on (the default), each worker can send its report by email after a successful run. When off, no worker sends email, regardless of the worker's own email setting.

AI Workforce

Two checkboxes control the AI Workforce, both on by default:

• Open the AI Workforce as the home page — When on, Axonius opens the AI Workforce Homepage when users sign in. When off, users land on the dashboards.
• Run the AI Workforce after every discovery cycle — When on, the AI Workforce runs automatically after every discovery cycle. Only a user with the Manage the AI Workforce permission in the global data scope can change this setting.
