Use the Import/Export Enforcement Sets capability to share Enforcement Sets between data scopes within Axonius. You can import or export multiple Enforcement Sets at the same time.
Permissions
The permissions required for importing or exporting Enforcement Sets are:
- Add/Import Enforcement
- Export Enforcement
Refer to the Enforcement Center Permissions List to learn more.
Importing Enforcement Sets
To import one or more Enforcement Sets, from the Enforcement Center page::
- Click the Import button above the Enforcement Sets table.
- Select a file or files to import from your local computer, and then click Open. A dialog box opens, showing the number and names of the Enforcement Sets imported.
You can only import files in JSON format.
- Choose what happens if the query name imported already exists in your environment. You can either overwrite it or save it as a copy.
- Select Import.
If at least one of the imported Enforcement Sets' names is used by an existing Enforcement Set, the import date and time are appended to the names of these Enforcement Sets so you can differentiate between them.
It is recommended to refresh the page once the import process is finished to ensure the new Enforcement Sets were added successfully.
If the import process fails, an Import Failed dialog appears, detailing the reason for the failure. The possible reasons are:
- File size exceeded maximum size
- Invalid JSON file
- There is no Enforcement Set to import
You can try again by selecting another file.
Exporting Enforcement Sets
To export Enforcement Sets, from the Enforcement Center page:
- To export multiple Enforcement Sets, select the checkboxes of all required Enforcement Sets and click the Export button on top of the table.
To export a single Enforcement Set, either select its checkbox, or hover over the row and select the Export icon that appears at the end of the row.
- The Export Enforcement Sets dialog displays the total number of Enforcement Sets to be exported. Select Export to confirm.
- The Enforcement Set(s) are downloaded to your local computer as a JSON file.
All exported Enforcement Sets include their associated queries but exclude action form data (credentials and data scopes). As a result, these Enforcement Sets can only be imported into the same Axonius instance.
