Checking Discovery Cycle Status

The AI Agent can answer questions about Axonius Discovery Cycles without requiring you to navigate to the Discovery page. You can ask about:

• Whether a discovery cycle is currently running
• Which phase the current cycle is on and how long it has been running
• When the most recent cycle completed and whether it was successful
• The history of recent cycles — for example, the last 5 or 10 cycles
• Cycles that ran on a specific date or within a date range
• Which adapters had fetch failures during a given cycle

Asking About the Current Cycle

To check the status of the current or most recent discovery cycle:

• "Is a discovery cycle running?"
• "What phase is the current discovery cycle on?"
• "When did the last discovery cycle finish?"
• "Was the last discovery cycle successful?"

The agent returns the cycle's running status, the phases it has completed, the phase currently in progress (if any), and overall success.

Viewing Cycle History

To see a history of recent cycles:

Investigating Adapter Failures

If a discovery cycle had adapter fetch failures, you can ask the agent to dig deeper:

• "Which adapters failed during the last discovery cycle?"
• "Why did the last cycle take so long?"

The agent can surface per-adapter fetch results for any cycle. For a detailed breakdown of an adapter's fetch events during a specific cycle, the agent can retrieve the adapter fetch event log for that discovery cycle ID.
