Device Ownership

The Device Ownership page offers a rigorous management state framework that enforces a single, definitive state (Managed, Unmanaged, or Out of Scope) for every asset, providing clear business context and reliable reporting.

The following details are provided for each rule:

  • Ownership priority and status (see explanation in the Business Units page about priorities). The possible ownership statuses are:
    • Business Owned (Managed) - Devices managed by the organization
    • Personal (BYOD) - Personal devices such as mobile phones
    • Third-Party - Devices and servers managed by a third-party vendor
  • Asset Count - How many assets are affected by this rule
  • Rule Status - Active or Inactive
  • When the rule was last updated and by whom
