Creating Dashboards and Charts with the AI Agent
You can use the AI Agent to create dashboards and charts.
Sample prompts to create a new dashboard:
- "Create a new private dashboard called 'Security Coverage'"
- "Build me a dashboard for SentinelOne agent health"
- "Create a dashboard with charts showing my device coverage gaps"
Sample prompts to add charts to an existing dashboard:
- "Add a pie chart of my devices by OS type to my Security Overview dashboard"
- "Pin a count of devices missing SentinelOne to my Coverage dashboard"
- "Add a trend line showing how my unmanaged device count has changed over time"
Chart types the agent can build:
| Chart | Example ask |
|---|---|
| Pivot Summary (single number tile) | "How many devices have no EDR agent?" |
| Field Segmentation (pie / histogram) | "Devices by OS type" |
| Adapter Segmentation | "Which sources report my devices?" |
| Query Comparison | "Managed vs unmanaged devices side by side" |
| Query Intersection (Venn / pie) | "How many of my servers have CrowdStrike?" |
| Matrix (stacked bars) | "Device classes broken down by agent coverage" |
| Timeline | "How has my stale device count trended this month?" |
| Asset Table | "A live table of devices missing SentinelOne" |
Other dashboard actions:
- Copy an entire dashboard (duplicate with all charts)
- Delete a custom dashboard
- Edit chart names, descriptions, or query slots
- Move a chart to another dashboard
- Create a saved filter to scope all charts on a dashboard
How it works
Every dashboard or chart creation goes through a platform approval prompt — The Agent shows you what it is about to build, and you approve it before anything is saved. No changes are made to your dashboards without your explicit consent.
Prompts for Creating Charts
Here are some ready-to-use prompts, organized by what you want to see:
Breakdowns & Distributions
- "Create a pie chart of my devices by OS type on my Security Overview dashboard"
- "Add a histogram of devices by manufacturer to my Inventory dashboard"
- "Show me a breakdown of users by department as a chart"
- "Create a chart of my vulnerabilities by severity"
- "Add a segmentation chart of devices by device type (laptop, server, mobile…)"
Single Number Tiles (Pivot Summary)
- "Add a count of devices missing SentinelOne to my Coverage dashboard"
- "Create a tile showing how many users have MFA disabled"
- "Add a count of open critical vulnerabilities to my Exposures dashboard"
- "Pin the total number of unmanaged devices to my dashboard"
Coverage & Overlap (Venn / Intersection)
- "Create a chart showing how many of my devices have CrowdStrike installed vs how many don't"
- "Add a coverage pie showing managed vs unmanaged devices"
- "Show a Venn chart comparing devices seen by CrowdStrike, Tenable, and Active Directory"
Side-by-Side Comparisons
- "Create a comparison chart of Windows vs macOS vs Linux device counts"
- "Add a bar chart comparing devices by business unit"
- "Show me a chart comparing compliant vs non-compliant devices"
Trends Over Time
- "Create a timeline chart showing how my unmanaged device count has changed over the last 30 days"
- "Add a trend line for open critical findings over the past month"
- "Show a chart of how my total device count has trended this quarter"
Live Asset Tables
- "Add a table of devices missing SentinelOne to my Coverage dashboard"
- "Create a chart showing a live list of users with no MFA, with their email and department"
- "Add a table of my top 20 most critical open vulnerabilities"
Cross-Tab / Pivot (Two Dimensions at Once)
- "Create a pivot chart of devices by OS type and business unit"
- "Show a heat map of vulnerability severity by device criticality"
- "Add a stacked bar chart of device classes broken down by agent coverage status"
Tips for best results
- Name the dashboard you want the chart on, or say "create a new dashboard called X"
- Say the shape if you care — pie, bar, table, tile, Venn, trend line
- Say the population if you want to scope it — "Windows servers only", "production devices", "last 30 days"
- Mix and match — "A pie chart of my Windows servers by OS version, on my Patch Management dashboard"
