DNSFilter

DNSFilter is a cloud-based web content filtering solution that protects users from accessing malicious or inappropriate websites.

Types of Assets Fetched

This adapter fetches the following types of assets:

  • Devices
  • Networks

APIs

Axonius uses the DNSFilter API.

Axonius uses the following endpoints:

  • GET /v1/user_agents/all
  • GET /v1/policies/all - Used when Policies is selected.
  • GET /v1/networks/all - Used when Networks or Network Public IPs is selected.
  • GET /v1/networks/subnets - Used when Network Subnets is selected.

Parameters

Required Parameters

  1. Authentication Method - Select the authentication method and provide the parameters for it:
  • User Name and Password (required for this option) - The credentials for a user account that has permission to fetch assets. For information on authentication, see Obtaining a Token.
DNSFilter parameters

Optional Parameters

  1. Organization ID - Enter an organization ID to have the adapter fetch only devices that belong to this organization. When left empty, the adapter fetches all devices accessible to the authenticated account.

  2. Verify SSL - Select whether to verify the SSL certificate of the server against the CA database inside of Axonius. For more details, see SSL Trust & CA Settings.

  3. HTTPS Proxy (optional) - Connect the adapter to a proxy instead of directly connecting it to the domain.

  4. HTTPS Proxy User Name (optional) - The user name to use when connecting to the value supplied in Host Name or IP Address via the value supplied in HTTPS Proxy.

  5. HTTPS Proxy Password (optional) - The password to use when connecting to the server using the HTTPS Proxy.

Endpoints Config

Select and enable the settings listed in this section to enrich data with additional data from specific endpoints. All of these settings are disabled by default.

  • Policies (default: disabled) - Select this option under User Agents to add policy details to devices.
  • Networks (default: disabled) - Select this option to fetch DNSFilter networks as Networks assets.
    • Network Public IPs (default: disabled) - Select this option under Networks to add public IP information to Networks assets.
    • Network Subnets (default: disabled) - Select this option under Networks to add subnet information and CIDR blocks to Networks assets.
    • Policies (default: disabled) - Select this option under Networks to add policy details to Networks assets.
