Improved On-boarding Process

The on-boarding experience for new customers was improved with the following new features.

Addition of Option to Supply Department and Role

The first time a new user logs on to the system, they are prompted to enter their title and role. This is the first step in building a persona based experience.

Predefined Dashboards out of the Box

  • A set of Predefined Dashboards out of the Box are available for new users only, which cover the main areas of interest. The dashboards are displayed if relevant adapters are connected. The user is prompted to connect dashboards from appropriate categories in order to populate the dashboards. The following predefined dashboards are available:

    • Agent Coverage - Discover Coverage Gaps
    • Cloud Instances - Manage Your Cloud Instances
    • IT & Compliance - Understand Your Assets
    • Software & Watchlists - Manage Your Software
    • Users - Manage Your Users
    • Vulnerability - Discover Vulnerabilities

Data Scope

The Asset Scope feature was renamed Data Scope. This feature is available with a feature flag only. Now up to 20 Asset Scope queries can be included in a Data Scope.
The Data Scope can also be configured using the API

  • Enable adding up to 20 queries to an asset scope

  • Provide fully documented data scope management support via the API

  • Terminology change from Asset Scope to Data Scope, to reflect that such data restrictions are not limited to assets and will be extended in the future

    • Reflected all over the UI
    • Asset scope queries remain as is

Environment on the Spot

The time to deliver a trial environment was reduced.

Other Issues

Export CSV from the Devices/Users page: In CSV Export the file is generated and downloaded with native browser capabilities. There is no change to CSV export from other pages.

Creating Queries from the Chart Configuration Wizard

Note the following limitations for this feature:
If a user doesn’t have edit/create queries permissions, they can can still create private queries only from the assets pages and not from the new drawer. However, they can still see the queries definition.

If the saved query is AQL only - Edit Query will only allow changing the name, description and tags.
